We speak about the similarities (or lack thereof) between the "Dark Trio" and the original "Big Three" of animanga, break down what these shows are all about, which are our individual favorites and how anime and shonen are evolving.

Chainsaw Man
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.

Itadori Yuji is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a friend who has been attacked by Curses, he eats the finger of the Double-Faced Specter, taking the Curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with the Double-Faced Specter. Ichigo Kurosaki is a rather normal high school student apart from the fact he has the ability to see ghosts. This ability never impacted his life in a major way until the day he encounters the Shinigami Kuchiki Rukia, who saves him and his family's lives from a Hollow, a corrupt spirit that devours human souls.
Wounded during the fight against the Hollow, Rukia chooses the only option available to defeat the monster and passes her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. Now forced to act as a substitute until Rukia recovers, Ichigo hunts down the Hollows that plague his town.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

EPISODE NOTES
These new three anime in The Dark Trio are not necessarily the most popular, as The Big Three were for their time. They are known as The Dark Trio for being destinctly darker in content than a lot of the other shows in the genre. Notably, they are all being animated by Mappa Studios.
